The Soldiers are
coming!
Trudge. My feet were slowly sinking into the mud. Gunshots
sprinting past me. I tried to sprint as fast as I could over the hill. Bang. I
was hit. Two medics carefully trotted over to me. Checked if I was still alive
and plonked me on the stretcher.
I had been taken to a hospital flowing with
other soldiers that had been injured one way or another. The person in the bed
next to me had been hit by a shell. He needed to have his left leg amputated
the next day. I was much more fortuitous as all I needed to have was a bullet
taken out of my right arm.
